Carlette’s background, expertise and experience have all been in the world of sports. She was a college athlete, a national-ranked swim coach, created and sold a wellness company, worked for the National Football League (NFL), the NBA Developmental League, founded a non-profit – Y.E.S. (You Equal Success), and after being trained by Martha Beck, number one Life Coach in America, Carlette created CHAMP10N Sports Life Coaching Certification®. Carlette draws on her personal challenges and triumphs combined with 30+ years of senior leadership in professional, collegiate, and amateur sports organization to ignite purpose and passion to create Championship Change in three-dimensions (3D): Professional = Success; Personal = Significance; Philanthropic = Service of our lives.

Professionally, Carlette is committed to honoring who we are and the unique gifts we have to share, through the power of our life work. Philanthropically, she is devoted to G.I.V.E.H.O.P.E. to the next generation and train them to be champions in their lives by sharing her message of hope- who we are and what we value are important- you matter. Personally, Carlette is embracing the adventure of creating and living a life she loves. As a mother, Carlette is supporting her three adult daughters to have the courage to discover who they are, what they want, and how to play a small role in something bigger than themselves.

Jason McKenzie earned his CHAMP10N Sports Life Coach™ Certification in 2013 and his Master CHAMP10N Sports Life Coach® Certification in 2016. Jason specializes in working with athletes, coaches, teams and executives. He believes in being his best so he can help other be the best that they can be – personally, professionally and philanthropically. Jason uses the CHAMP10N Sports Life Coaching® model and 3D Tools, which utilizes the language and practices of sport, to coach individuals to achieve competitive greatness, both in sports and in life.

Jason’s current roles include working with High Performance Sport NZ (past 10 years) as an Athlete Life Advisor and Mental Skills provider for Steel Netball, U21 and Silver Ferns; he was previously Athlete Life Lead for Cycling NZ; NZ Rugby Players Association/Southland Rugby (past 10 years) - as a Personal Development Manager and Mental Skills provider; Academy Southland Talent Development (involved in various roles over past 12 years) - currently manager and Mental skills and Developed and lead Performance Coach programmer; and Approved Family Court Counsellor (past 11 years).

Melissa Luellen |  Coaches and Professional Athlete Coach

Melissa Luellen was introduced to CHAMP10N Sports Life Coaching® in 2002 when Carlette became her Sports Life Coach. She loved it so much she earned her CHAMP10N Sports Life Coach® Certification in 2015 with the desired outcome of adding CHAMP10N Sports Life Coaching® to her college golf coach credentials. Melissa is currently a D1 College Golf coach, but prior to her position she was a four-time All- American and NCAA Champion as a player at the University of Tulsa and lead her team to a NCAA Championship title. She then played professional golf for 14 years, with 11 being on the LPGA Tour. She won twice and served on the Executive Committee as a Player Representative.

 As a golf coach at Arizona State University, she led her team to a NCAA Championship,10 NCAA Top 10 finishes and two conference championships. She also coached one NCAA Individual Champion and three Pac-12 Golfers of the Year. Melissa was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year three times. 

 

Melissa is a lifelong learner and is passionate about sharing CHAMP10N Sports Life Coaching® with sport coaches.

Jane earned her CHAMP10N Sports Life Coaching ® Certification in 2018. Jane specializes in working with people going through challenging life transitions.  Jane is committed to coaching through transition because of the impact Sports Life Coaching made on her life when she was going through big life transitions, both personally and professionally and was overwhelmed by all the change.  She didn’t know what the future held but she was determined to invest in herself and get help to figure it out.  After 29 years of marriage, Jane divorced and simultaneously left a job that was unhealthy.

Professionally, Jane is committed to serving and supporting others who want to become Champions through change within themselves and in their life.  Personally, through the “live it to give it” model, Jane continues to train to become competitively great as a Sports Life Coach while striving every day to create and live her 10 life!   Not only does she hope to be a role model to her 3 sons but to others who have faced similar challenges.  Philanthropically, Jane coach’s young students and women professionals to give them the tools and strategies that allow them to grow confidently into their greatness.

Joi  |  Coaches and Professional Athlete Coach

Joi Williams earned her CHAMP10N Sports Life Coach™ Certification® in 2019. Joi specializes in working with collegiate and professional coaches and athletes. Joi’s experience includes 26 years of coaching at the collegiate level which includes stints at the University of Florida, Clemson University, Murray State University and most recently the University of Central Florida where, during her nine years as head coach, she led the Knights to two C-USA championships and two NCAA appearances. In 2017, Joi also served as an assistant coach in the WNBA with the San Antonio Stars. 

 

As a former collegiate athlete and coach, Joi specializes in serving and supporting collegiate and professional coaches and athletes.

Joy  |  CHAMP10NS for Change Coach

Joy Burke was introduced to CHAMP10N Sports Life Coaching™ in 2009 when she joined the Arizona State Women’s Basketball team and Carlette became her Sports Life Coach.  In 2012, while Joy was working on her Honor’s Thesis Finding Joy in the Journey, all about Sports Philanthropy, she interned for Carlette and was coached through the CHAMP10N Sports Life Coach™ Certification. 

After many years of playing professional basketball internationally and starting her own sports philanthropy projects, Joy decided that she wanted to be more equipped with tools to empower people.  In 2020, Joy earned her CHAMP10N Sports Life Coach™ Certification with the desired outcome of coaching college and professional athletes for Competitive Greatness in sport and in life, and as well as utilizing the 3D tools to empower next generation athletes in areas around the world where there is limited access to education and high quality coaching.   Joy’s dream is to help others have the opportunity to dream and discover their unique gift to the world.  

Joy’s professional career consists of six seasons of professional basketball, starting with winning a championship in Denmark in 2015.  She then played five seasons in Australia earning MVP and Female Athlete of the Year awards.  Joy has also represented her national team—Chinese Taipei in the 2015 and 2017 FIBA Asia Championships as well as the 2018 Asian Games.  In 2019, Joy was selected to play for Team World in the Inaugural Aurora Games.  As a Nike athlete, Joy had the opportunity to be the face of a Nike Women Campaign in 2019, partnering with Vogue Magazine, encouraging women across Asia to dream and achieve.  

Recognizing the unique platform basketball has given her, Joy utilized her offseason to give back and engage in sports philanthropy projects around the world.  In 2016, Joy volunteered at the Shanghai Healing Home, an orphanage for infants with disabilities.  In 2017, Joy coached Aboriginal youth in basketball in the regional areas of Australia for Hoops Against Violence, an organization dedicated to give hope to Aboriginal youth by introducing them to basketball.  In 2018, Joy went on her first Sports Philanthropy tour to Bhutan and the Philippines.  In Bhutan, Joy coached the women’s national basketball team and conducted basketball and leadership camps for college students at the Royal Thimphu College.  In Davao, Philippines, Joy helped underprivileged kids have access to education and spoke at multiple schools.  In 2019, Joy developed and managed a range of mentorship and empowerment programs for underprivileged and youth at risk in the community through partnerships with the city government and local schools in Ballarat, Australia.  She spent an extensive amount of time working with Refugee and Migrant Families.
